Suitable Applications
The NX50 is compact device with built in GPS tracking and Wireless communications. It is designed for use in mobile plant monitoring and control applications. Please contact Nortech to discuss your requirements.
Digital Inputs
Accepting Volt-Free (dry) contacts. The whetting current is provided by the RTU. There are 2 digital inputs which can monitor rising and/or falling edge. Minimum detection time is 10ms. When a change of state event occurs the following actions are taken:
- Date/time stamped record placed in event log
- Call initiated to the Host (optional)
Analogue Input
There is one input, accepting a 4-20mA feed. The input is measured using 8-bit resolution and can be configured locally or remotely with 4 threshold levels. When a level is crossed the following actions are taken:
- Date/time and level stamped record placed in event log
- Call initiated to the Host (optionally)
Routine levels monitoring is also included combined with a datalogging facility.
Output Contact
The output line can be configured to provide ENERGISE, DE-ENERGISE, PULSE ON and PULSE OFF controls. Pulse durations are configurable. Typically outputs drive external relays.
Ignition/Supply Monitoring and Temperature
The external DC is monitored (ON/OFF)and can be date and time stamped and optionally reported to the Host. The RTU has an on board temperature sensor. The temperature of the RTU is reported to the Host during every contact.
GPS Satellite Location and Tracking
Reports current position back to Host via the GPRS network. Configurable frequency of logging and reporting. Ideal for combining telemetry and mobile asset tracking.
Remote Configuration
Operational settings are simply and remotely configured by editing settings on the Central Host System - these settings are then automatically sent to the RTU via the installed communications network link.
GPRS Communication with iHost
Wireless "always on" link with the iHost platform. The frequency of updates is configurable. Applications will vary on the amount of data being transferred but typically this is 1 - 2 MB per month.
GSM
Wireless Dial-Up CSD (Circuit Switch Data) can be switched on for locations/countries where GPRS not yet available.
