Application

The PD2 was initially developed for use by power utilities to track outages and interruptions to supplies on parts of the HV and MV networks which are not controlled by SCADA. Electric utilities can strategically install PD2 units to provide early warning of HV outages affecting customers fed from non-telecontrolled switchgear. PD2 units monitor and report all interruptions to supply and as such can be used to monitor transient interruptions and short duration outages.
