Real-time HV Pre-Fault and Post-Fault Location
What is PRE-FIX™?
PRE-FIX is a HV network fault location solution which can locate and classify pre-faults and post-faults to within a few metres – fully automated, all in real time. Originally trialled as an OFGEM-funded, NGED-led NIA project, PRE-FIX was found to be effective on both overhead line and cable networks.
PRE-FIX analyses data from network sensors (Power Quality Monitors, Disturbance Recorders and Fault Passage Indicators) and combines this with network information (network connectivity models, asset data and GIS data) all in real-time.
Most Economical Solution
By augmenting expensive primary substation instruments (PQM or Disturbance Recorders) with lower cost feeder monitors and network sensors, means a much lower instrumentation budget overall. Savings of up to 90% on instrumentation costs over alternative solutions can be achieved.
